Dosage and directions for use:
To be given three or four times a day as follows:
6 months to 1 year: 10 to 20 drops in a little warm water.
1 - 3 years: 1.25 ml to 2.5 ml.
3 - 7 years: 2.5 ml to 5 ml.
Over 7 years: 10 ml.
Shake the bottle.

Side-effects and special precautions:
Persistent coughs should be investigated for possible underlying cause by the patient's doctor. Liquorice may cause reversible sodium retention and potassium loss leading to hypertension, water retention and electrolyte imbalance.
Known symptoms of overdosage and particulars of its treatment:
Large doses of ammonium chloride may cause nausea, vomiting, thirst, headache, abnormally deep and rapid breathing, and progressive drowsiness and may lead to profound acidosis and hypokalaemia. Symptoms of camphor overdosage include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, colic, headache, a feeling of warmth, delirium, muscle twitching, recurrent fits, depression of the central nervous system and coma. Breathing is difficult and the breath has a characteristic odour; anuria may occur. Treatment of overdosage is symptomatic and supportive.
